In skin care, Lime essential oil acts as tightening and toning astringent that can reduce production of excess oil, meaning that it helps to control oily skin or blemishes.
As an antioxidant, the Limonene also supports absorption of nutrients for a clean and vibrant-looking skin. Hence, the oil is commonly used in skin care for acnes, wrinkles, scars, uneven skin tone, sagging skin, dull complexion and dark spots. It also reduces dandruffs and dry itchy scalp; leaving the hairs shiny and healthy.
As an immune booster, it stimulates immune system to increase production of leukocytes that fight infections. Additionally, it has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-viral and anti-microbial properties, Lime can be blended with other known immune-boosting oils e.g. Eucalyptus, Nerolina, Kunzea, etc to clear congested airways and decongest phlegm.
Being a mild detoxifier, you may use it for cleansing and detoxification. This includes fluid retention and cellulite, as well as other metabolic ailments such as liver cleansing, digestive difficulties and gallstones or inflammation of gall bladder.
