USES IN AROMATHERAPY
Mind/Emotional:
Clary sage essential oil has a euphoric and anti-depressant effect. Its calming, sedating influence on nervous system and emotion makes it a relaxing oil for relieving stress, eases nervousness and depression. The relaxing aroma enhances dream state of sleep and a feeling of comfort.
Emotional action of this oil is achieved by balancing the stimulation and relaxation (‘yang’ and ‘yin’) of our body. In other word, it can also help to uplift those who are weary, over-tired and hypersensitive.
A traditional aphrodisiac, Clary Sage blends beautifully with Ylang Ylang, Neroli and Vanilla for a stress-relief blend.
Body/Physical:
Clary Sage moderates excessive estrogen and ‘yin’ energy. This explains why it is the go-to oil for hormonal balancing and female-related problems such as PMS, painful periods, irregular periods, menstrual cramps, infertility and menopause.
It can aid relaxation during labour and encourage a less painful birth. The oil is commonly used by pregnant women who are past due date to encourage labour. Furthermore, it is considered a tonic to use after childbirth and during convalescence.
Thanks to its astringent properties, this oil is also beneficial for oily skin and scalp problems.
It is thought to be a muscles relaxant that can ease muscular fatigue, pain, tension and spasm. Other common uses of this oil also include excessive perspiration, sore throat and so forth.
